Molecular
Genetics Core Facility
Boston University School of Medicine developed a high-throughput
DNA Sequencing and Genotyping Facility to help Boston University researchers
exploit DNA sequencing and genotyping technology in their experiments.
We run both fluorescent Microsatellite genotyping and SNP genotyping
by primer extension. Core lab currently offers DNA extraction services
directly from blood samples, buccal swabs and mouth wash along with
the establishment of lymphoblast cell lines to provide a permanent source
of DNA, RNA, and protein. The Molecular Genetics Core Facility (or the
Core Lab) is a part of the Genetics Program in the Department of Medicine.
The facility is located on the third floor of the Evans Building. Its
regular hours of operation are 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The facility's staff has years of proven technical proficiency and experience
with high throughput characterization, purification and laboratory automation.
